Meet the Officers

Abigail Lam '28 | President

Abigail is from Oklahoma City and serves as this year’s Oklahoma ASDA Chapter President. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, where she was actively involved in leadership, service, and community outreach. These experiences strengthened her interest in dentistry and helped her grow both personally and professionally, shaping her into the person she is today.

When she’s not in class or studying, Abigail enjoys going for runs, taking Pilates classes, and celebrating life’s big moments with friends and family. She also loves watching OU football and cheering on the OKC Thunder. Above all, Abigail values spending quality time with the people she cares about and appreciates opportunities to connect with her community both inside and outside of dentistry.

Samantha Power '28 | Vice President

Hello! My name is Samantha (or Sammi) and I am honored to serve as this year's ASDA Vice President. I grew up in Oklahoma City, and I attended the University of Kansas for undergrad- rock chalk! At KU, I earned my bachelor's degree in biochemistry while staying involved in research, student leadership, and my sorority. Throughout those experiences, I became more and more excited about my future career in dentistry because it offers the perfect blend of science, artistry, and patient care. Guys- it's actually the best profession ever!!

Even before starting dental school, I knew I wanted to be involved with ASDA. I am so excited to help create meaningful experiences for my classmates, plan memorable events, advocate for students, and continue developing as a future dental professional through my leadership role.

When I'm not studying, I enjoy being active, going camping, exploring local coffee shops, and hosting Catan nights with my friends. If you're ever looking for a great coffee or matcha rec, I'm your girl!

Makenzie Cummings ‘28 | Treasurer

Hi! I’m Makenzie Cummings. I am from Ponca City, OK. I chose dentistry because of the detail-oriented hand skills always caught my interest and being able to build relationships with patients. I love to play with my golden retriever and needlepoint!!

Austin Hurd ‘28 | Secretary

Hi everybody my name is Austin Hurd. I am from Denver, Colorado and attended the University of Oklahoma. I am a graduate from the Price College of Business with a degree in Healthcare Business. I chose to pursue dentistry due to my interest in healthcare and having a meaningful impact on people’s lives. I chose to be a member of ASDA due to always really enjoying helping out pre-dentals and being a mentor for others. In my free time I love to golf and I am a huge OU football fan.

Bree Balenseifen '28 | Historian

Hi!! My name is Bree Balenseifen! I am from Bethany, Oklahoma. I graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a BioMedical Science degree and Psychology minor! When I started trying to figure out what I wanted to do in my life I reflected a lot and knew that I wanted a fulfilling career that involved helping people! Dentistry is the epitome of helping people. You meet patients where they are and you become a friend as well as a doctor. Forming those connections is everything to me! ASDA has been a great organization to be a part of because you are surrounded with others who share those same ideals that help you grow, learn, and become not only a better person but a better provider! When I’m not at school you can find me trying new foods, traveling the world, DJing on the couch, and spending time with family and friends!!

Pann Warner '28 | Vendor Coordinator

​Hi! My name is Pann Warner. I was born and raised in Thailand and then moved to Jenks, Oklahoma when I was 8 years old. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Brigham Young University. I chose dentistry because it combines science, problem-solving, and hands-on work in a way that keeps every day different. I joined ASDA to connect with other students and get involved with the community. In my free time, I love to workout, travel, and try out new restaurants. I’m so excited to be serving as this year’s Vendor Coordinator!

Hi! My name is Isabelle Pence. I am from Norman, Oklahoma and graduated from the University of Oklahoma! I am excited to serve as one of the vendor coordinators!!!!

James White '28 | Legislative Liaison

Hello, my name is James White. I am from Edmond and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University. I am excited to serve as the legislative liaison because this is a topic I am passionate about!!

Alyssa Dambreville ‘28 | Community Outreach

Hi! My name is Alyssa Dambreville and I am from OKC/Newalla, OK. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Biology from The University of Oklahoma. With eight years of braces and two reconstructive jaw surgeries, I spent a LOT of time in dental offices! I decided to pursue dentistry to help resolve people's pain and make an impact on oral public health and accessibility. I joined ASDA as Community Outreach Chair to help engage our student body with underserved groups in our communities and encourage volunteerism long after we graduate from OUCOD! In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, kayaking, and loving on my two cats, Tiger and Lilly!

Molly McCown ‘28 | Membership Coordinator

Hi, I’m Molly McCown, a third-year dental student at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry and your ASDA Membership Coordinator. I became involved in ASDA because of the opportunities it provides to connect with dental professionals and students across the state and country. Those relationships have been invaluable to my growth as a future dentist, and I’m excited to help others get involved and make the most of their membership.

Cailin Masters '28 | Webmaster

Hi! My name is Cailin Masters and I am from Tulsa, Oklahoma. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a major in biology. I chose to pursue dentistry because I have always enjoyed science and art, so dentistry is the perfect mix of both! In my free time I like to hang out with my friends and go on walks!!

Gavin Allen '28 | Publications Editor

Hi, my name is Gavin Allen. I’m from Morris, Oklahoma. I graduated from the University of Tulsa with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. I chose dentistry because of the work-life balance and opportunity to help people in my community. I wanted to be a part of ASDA to further my connections in the Dental field. In my free time I like to fish, hang out with friends, and try new places to eat.

Jason Nguyen ‘28 | Tulsa Representative

Hi! My name is Jason Nguyen and I’m from Broken Arrow, OK. I went to the University of Oklahoma and got my bachelors in Biology. I chose dentistry because I wanted to join a profession that provided immediate impact. Furthermore, I joined ASDA because I wanted to share my previous student leadership experiences and incorporate them into future events for prospective students! In my free time, I love binging TV shows and cooking.
