The formerly bi-annual Pre-Dental Simulation Course is now a tri-annual event, taking place in the Fall, Spring, and Summer. The tentative dates are as follows:

Fall - September 15, 2018
Spring - April 13, 2019
Summer - June 30, 2018

This course has been designed for pre-dental students to gain insight and a hands-on approach to learning about what the clinical portion of dental school entails. More importantly it is an opportunity to begin to develop the hand skills that are necessary to succeed. It is an opportunity to find out "if dentistry is for you."

This course will reveal the art and science behind dentistry. Students that complete this course will have a better idea of what it takes to be a dental student, gain confidence, and become a more competitive applicant.

Attending the Sim Course was one of the best things I’ve done. I’ve always had a passion for dentistry, but had the fear that I might not be good enough—that there are so many other people out there better than me with better GPAs, extracurriculars, etc. Having the chance to meet current dental students that had faced the same challenges was a huge confidence booster. Another thing that really blew my mind was that the Deans actually took the time out of their day to come and talk to us, and that really made me certain about wanting to go to OU, because I want to go to a school that people not only know each other but care about each other. In addition to all of this, the opportunity to get hands-on experience and work in the lab, tour of the school, and network with some of the current dental students was just a very amazing experience.

To top it all off, ASDA gave us chocolate chip cookies as a part of our lunch so it really couldn’t get any better than that!
